Everyone's heard of Area 51Groom Lake, Nevada. However, 2,500 miles
away there's an underwater facility that's also highly secretive.
Perched on the cusp of The Bermuda Triangle, it's called AUTEC. The
Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center is a laboratory said to
be used by the U.S. Navy for weapons testing and underwater research.
UFO and USO activity in and around AUTEC fuels speculation that the
U.S. government is secretly working with extraterrestrials;
engineering and testing alien technology. The team heads here to speak
with former base employees and to search the waters around one of
America's most topsecret facilities.Helecopter training institute by

(HATSOFF)' will offer comprehensive training to civil and military

variant of the HALbuilt Dhruv, the civil varian

expected to be operational by 2010.The academy will offer LevelD

combat aircraft. The basing of a squadron of the Sukhoi in Tezpur means
that the Indian Air Force is moving some of its most powerful assets
closer to the border with China in India’s NortheastThis is one test
the Indian Air Force thought it would never have to conduct. With
birdhits threatening its aircraft at impossible altitudes and unlikely
locations, the IAF has decided to use DNA testing to determine which
birds are these that fly so high and get lodged in engines and
aircraft airframes.First batch of pilots trained on Hawks to pass out
on June 19 Little is known about China's "actual capability" in the
defence sector, Indian Ai
r Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major said Wednesday,
as he clarified his previous remarks that Beijing was the biggest
threat to India."I meant to say that we know very little about the
actual capability of the country... You do not want to be
threatcentric, you want to be capabilitybasedThe IAF is looking for 22
twinengine attack helicopters to replace its ageing fleet of
Russianorigin Mi35s. The Request for Proposals (RFP) have been sent to
five vendors — Italian AgustaWestland, US companies Boeing and Bell,
the Russian Khazan and the European consortium Eurocopter. The RfP for
the 22 combat helicopters had actually been released just before the
BerlinAir Show in May 2008 to six contenders, Sikorsky for Black Hawk,
Boeing for Apache AH 64D, Bell for Super Cobra (all three from US),
Eurocopter for Tiger, Russian Mil for Mi 35, and Augusta Westland for
Mangusta. Air Vice Marshal (retired) A.J.S. Walia, Sikorsky's India
vice president, said his company will
pit "the world famous Black Hawk" in the competition. The IAF is to
train two of its personnel for the mission, in collaboration with the
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), said a senior IAF official.
The proposed manned space mission follows India's successful lunar
probe launch last year."We may have an IL76 (Russianbuilt Illyushin76
transport aircraft) modified to familiarise our crew with zero gravity
situation. The mission will be unique as the spacecraft will also have
an ejection capsule which would help the crew eject safely in time of
emergency," the official added.Dismissing the criticism of the huge
costs involved in India's proposed manned mission, another senior IAF
official listed its military advantages. He said the space mission
will help India acquire ICBM (InterContinental Ballistic Missile)
capability."To place a spacecraft in orbit we will require a bigger
rocket booster. This large rocket booster will help India acquire the
ICBM (InterContinental
Ballistic Missile) capability," the senior official said requesting
anonymity. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will acquire six more midair

"expeditionary force" while responding to natural disasters and
emergencies in the regionAir Marshal Ajit Bhavnani, vice chief of the
IAF, said plans had been firmed up to buy six more Il78 flight
refuelling jets to give the force "greater strategic reach". The IAF

underway BANGALORE: The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), the
aircraft design house of the Defence Research Development Organisation
(DRDO) in Bangalore has formed a core team to design a medium combat
aircraft (MCA), an advanced multirole fighter with stealth
capabilities. Besides incorporating many features of the indigenous
singleengine Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) that is undergoing flight
trials, the MCA will use radarabsorbent materials to reduce de
tection by radars, making it a stealth fighter. The new generation
fighter is expected to replace the Jaguar and the Mirage2000 fleet of
the Indian Air Force in the coming decades. “The design work is
getting ready. It should be completed in a year,” DRDO sources told
DNA. The advanced aircraft will be build with extensive use of
composites and have smart sensors like micro electronic mechanical
systems (Mems), that can automatically detect strains or weaknesses in
the airframe or wings. “The IAF is giving a lot of inputs for the
design,” sources said. Once the design is frozen, the DRDO would
present the project to the government for sanction of the MCA project
estimated to cost about Rs 6000 to Rs 8000 crore. The MCA will be a 12
tonne weight class fighter with a maximum takeoff weight of about 18
tonnes. It is to be powered by two “thrust vector’’ engines that
facilitate controlling the flight by controlling its thrust, giving
the pilot greater manoeuvrabilit
y. But there are snags in developing Kaveri, the indigenous engine
that will be used for the LCA and upgraded for the MCA. The DRDO has
invited bids from global engine makers to participate in building the
engine. “The stealth features and engine are two areas that we are
weak. We will bridge this gap,” sources said. Many systems and
technologies developed in India for the LCA, Intermediate Jet Trainer
(IJT) and the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) like the flight control
systems and composite wings will be used in the MCA. “It will take
about six to eight years for the first aircraft to be developed,”
sources said.Panaji, Nov 26. (PTI): Indian Air Force is in the process
of procuring 126 light combat aircraft (LCA) by 2010, Air Chief
Marshal S P Tyagi said here. Israel will sell 50 unmanned spy drones
worth 220 million dollars to India, public radio reported Tuesday. The
Heron drones can fly at an altitude of 30,000 feet (nine kilometres),
are equipped with camera an
d surveillance technology, automatic takeoff and landing system and
are suitable for all weather conditions, the radio said. The 250kilo
drones can stay airborne for more than 40 hours.JAISALMER: The Changad
firing range in Jaisalmer was reverberating with loud explosions on
Tuesday as the Indian Air Force showcased its firepower as part of the
Aerial Weapons Seminar, 2009. During the exercise, the IAF fighters
not only demonstrated their accurate and precise strike capability,
but also displayed their amazing flying skills. Their mock strikes
destroying radar targets, petrol pumps and bunkers laid in the field,
left the audience spellbound. With frontline fighters like Sukhoi30,
Mig29 and Jaguar participating, the show had some of the best aircraft
and pilots who hit the 12 specially erected targets with immaculate
precision and produced a war scene at the firing range. The day
started with the fighters taking off from different airbases and
hitting the targets in the border
town. Some planes came all the way from Pune, Jamnagar, Uttarlai,
Bikaner and Jaisalmer. While the Sukhoi30 took off from Pune, it
reached the firing range in minutes and the Mig29 managed to break the
sound barrier, vanishing to the skies in split seconds. Witnessing the
event were Lt Gen K D Singh, GOCinC of South Western Command and Lt
Gen A S Lamba, GOC of 12 Corps, Flag Officer CommandinginChief of
Navy, Vice Admiral J S Bedi, among other high ranking officials.
Meanwhile, the border town is looking forward to the second BrahMos
testfiring on Wednesday. This image has been newly reveiledThe
egyptian decrypted image reveils UFO existed even that
